The Singapore Cricket Club International Soccer Sixes (the “Tournament”) will again take place on the hallowed Padang, recognized as the best grass surface in Singapore, and nestled in the shadows of Singapore's finest colonial buildings. The Padang is also set within the perimeter of Singapore's acclaimed F1 Grand Prix circuit, and has hosted other prestigious events such as the Singapore Rugby Sevens, not to mention guest appearances from ESPN's finest football pundits such as Bryan Robson and Ian Rush.
The aim of this competition is to highlight the many talents of Asian football, and its promising young players; all within the format of six a side football.
Although there are many successful and well established “reduced team” tournaments currently in Asia, this is the first international six a side tournament of its kind. Our objective is to provide an annual platform to showcase Asian football and eventually to become the premier one day tournament that incorporates Professional, Semi Professional and Amateur footballers from across the region.
In addition to the main tournament we will be hosting a Under 16 youth tournament and also a Charity based under 14 competition featuring teams from charitable institutions in Thailand, Indonesia, Bangla Desh, India and Singapore. All costs related to overseas institutions will be covered by ourselves and our generous sponsors
The Tournament also sets out to generate a weekend that spectators, players and officials alike can enjoy, where friendships are both made and renewed with teams and supporters from around the world.
Finally we wish to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our sponsors and advertisers who so generously support the Tournament. Please note that any surplus funds that the Tournament earns from the generosity of the sponsors and advertisers will be distributed with 50% going to our associated charity organizations and the balance invested into future tournaments of the Soccer Sixes.
