We are officially kicking off the 5th edition of SCC Soccer 6s tournament today at 2pm with the Press Conference, taking place in the Stumps at Singapore Cricket Club.
Come down to watch the accelerating soccer action over the weekend. Competitions to be played and prizes to be won! ZO Media campaign winner will be announced on Sunday at 4pm, just before the finals. It might be you, come and find out and be up close and personal with Nigel Winterburn.
Entrance to the event is FREE and open to the public. See you there!

24APR PROFESSIONAL A LEAGUE OUTFIT, NEWCASTLE JETS FC WILL PARTICIPATE WITHIN THE 5TH SCC SOCCER SIXES
Newcastle will take 10 players across to Singapore to take part in the competition, which will pit the Jets against international opponents in a six-a-side format. The Jets plan to take a strong squad to Singapore, with reigning Player of the Year Mark Birighitti and club captain Ruben Zadkovich among those who could potentially take part.
CEO Robbie Middleby said competing in the Soccer Sixes tournament was the ideal way for the Jets to begin their pre-season schedule, while also promoting the Newcastle Jets brand throughout Asia.
“This is a great opportunity for us as a Club to build the Newcastle Jets brand and promote the A-League in Singapore and throughout Asia in general'.
“Taking part in an event like this is a great way to get our preparations for the next A-League season started.
“Any overseas trip gives the players involved the chance to build camaraderie and cohesion within the squad.'
“I’m sure coming up against some quality international opposition will be an extremely beneficial experience for our players, especially for some of the younger ones.”
24APR 16 OPEN TEAMS, 6 YOUTH U14 TEAMS, 16 MASTERS TEAMS PARTICIPATE OVER TWO DAY
The 2013 SCC Soccer Sixes will see 16 OPEN teams, 6 Youth U14 teams, 16 Masters teams participate over two days. International teams from Japan, HK, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia and Singapore will battle it out to become the Sixes champion.

Creative Lighting Asia (CLA) have once again shown their fantastic support to the SCC Soccer Sixes with tremendous sponsorship by flying out a special guest for the weekend who will be the Soccer Sixes celebrity. It will be ex-Arsenal and England Midfielder, Mr Nigel Winterburn. In 2011 and 2012, CLA brought his ex teammate Ray Parlour for the tournament. Watch out for more details on his involvement throughout the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May for the 5th SCC Soccer Sixes.
